Review: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change by Stephen R. Covey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is like a bible personal development book. It has soooooo much content in it. Definitely a re-read! Second time reading it I will take notes. I also bought the book too.

There was surprisingly a lot about how to deal with your children, as well as how to deal with others. It had a How to Win Friends and Influence People feels to it.

Day in the Life Healthy and Productive

Day in the Life Healthy and Productive. What a productive day in my life! I start my healthy and productive morning routine going for a run with my dog. I love going on runs with her she's such a great companion. It's important to start the day with physical activity to get the blood flowing and the mind clear. When I got back from my run I had a shower and did a hair treatment. This is such a great healthy and productive lifestyle to have. I also do intermitted fasting and have my oatmeal at noon. My hair is damaged from doing a keratin treatment a while ago and so I needed a good hair treatment for cleansing the hair. Rosemary hair cleanse really cleansed my hair and my hair was less tangled after. We've made more progress on our homes stairs. We finally bought a couch and we love it so much it's from Urban Barn and it's the Sofia couch. We also shopped at Best Buy and JYSK to look for a tv mount so we can put our tv up on the wall and make more room in our living room. My husband and I had a photoshoot for our new business cards. We are officially a power couple haha we are real estate agents. The pictures from this photoshoot will be for our business cards. All of this during just the breaks in between my work haha I have a very busy life but super productive! I hope this video motivates you to be more healthy and productive as well.

FINALLY got vaccinated...

We finally got the VACCINE!!! Covid vaccine side effect video
We finally got our first dose of the Covid vaccine.
I know it's taken us so long and the first shot is long overdue.
We're so happy we finally got the Pfizer vaccine and now we just need the second shot to be able to go back to restaurants and gyms!
We didn't get bad side effects from the vaccine, just our arm hurt for a day or two that's it.
Looking forward to the second and final shot.

Check out our video about getting the vaccine!

Review: Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard: How to Achieve Super Performance in Stocks in Any Market

Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard: How to Achieve Super Performance in Stocks in Any Market Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard: How to Achieve Super Performance in Stocks in Any Market by Mark Minervini
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is a must read if you are a intermediate level trader. I don't think I've ever took so many notes from a book in my life lol Please go refer to my notes because this review box isn't big enough to hold it all XD

Mark Minervini has read over 1,000 investment titles in his personal library. He started with $3k, few years later $160k, a year later half a million. His philosophy and approach to trading is to be a conservative aggressive opportunist. Meaning aggressive of his pursuits of potential rewards while being extremely risk conscious. His primary thought process is “How much can I lose” not just “how much can I gain.”

Review: The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business

The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business by Charles Duhigg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Really liked this book! Very interesting studies and facts on the Power of Habits. It was a pretty long book, definitely a re-read.

Notes:
- If you remove certain arts of the brain it can effect memory, and tasks, habits don't rely on memory parts of the brain which is interesting - the brains basal ganglia basically is the habit forming/storing area
- habits, scientists say, emerge because the brain is constantly looking for ways to save effort - it's like a computer cache system, if it loads a page it remembers the page so it doesn't have to load it from scratch again - we can devote mental energy to new ideas and concepts etc
- Habits are formed by cravings, there's a cue, a routine, and a reward
- People crave the tingly feeling of minty toothpaste because it makes them think the product has done something, that it has had an effect. Fabreeze has the fresh smell at the end of your cleaning which creates a craving for that scent and that feeling of accomplishment
- “It seems ridiculously simple, but once you’re aware of how your habit works, once you recognize the cues and rewards, you’re halfway to changing it”
- “We know that a habit cannot be eradicated—it must, instead, be replaced. And we know that habits are most malleable when the Golden Rule of habit change is applied: If we keep the same cue and the same reward, a new routine can be inserted. But that’s not enough. For a habit to stay changed, people must believe change is possible. And most often, that belief only emerges with the help of a group.”
- Willpower is a muscle, you can use it all up for the day and it will become exhausted
- Starbucks allowed autonomy among their employee's and this increased morale
