Review: Not a Diet Book: The Must-Have Fitness Book From the World's Favourite Personal Trainer

Not a Diet Book: The Must-Have Fitness Book From the World's Favourite Personal Trainer Not a Diet Book: The Must-Have Fitness Book From the World's Favourite Personal Trainer by James Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The best book ever on the fitness industry, advice, diet, exercise!

James Smith is "That Hashtag-Calorie-Fucking-Deficit Guy" (#CFD!) He covers a range of topics from diet, diet fads, training routines, supplements, sleep, when to eat, how to eat, motivation, and even women's menstrual cycles.

What it all comes down to in losing weight, fat, getting healthier, lowering your BMI etc is just going on a calorie deficit diet. More calories out than in will make you lose weight, it's really that simple.

All these diet fads are just some ways in consuming less calories overall, and whichever one you believe in will generally work because it's a placebo. Some others are better than others, for example Intermittent Fasting is a great way to lose fat because you're basically skipping breakfast and only consuming lunch and dinner, less calories, more weight loss.

Review: The Carrie Diaries

The Carrie Diaries The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Enjoyed it! Would I re-read it? Probably not :P It's very "highschool" well actually it literally is :P It's when Carrie was in her senior year, right before she goes to New York and Brown. It's the beginning, if you will.

It has mostly all the highschool themes, cliques, fitting in, girls being mean to eachother, shitty friends, shitty boyfriends, coming out of the closet, being back stabbed by a friend, jealousy, figuring out what you want to be in life, finding out who you are, self identity, loyalty to friendships, being cheated on, trying different courses seeing what you like, wondering if a boy likes you or not.

Carrie is very annoying at times and to me unrelatable and way too forgiving and naive lol but hey she's in high school. If I had to identify with a character it probably would have been The Mouse because she actually thinks rationally, scratch that, she actually thinks properly lol

Maggie is unbelievably annoying, dumb, and emotional. I've actually known girls like Maggie though.

Review: Someone We Know

Someone We Know Someone We Know by Shari Lapena
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

2.5/5 stars
It was okay... I've read better Who dunnit' type of books.

The book starts off with family teenage drama. The mom finds out her son has been snooping into their neighbors homes. She doesn't react well and makes a mistake of writing a letter to the homes he broke into. The parents scare the boy into not doing it again. You learn about all their neighbors for the who dunnit part. The detectives ask everyone questions.. mostly everyone withholds extra info making the book longer then it should have been lol...

The entire book is centered around the Who Dunnit. There's no extra of anything which makes it just feel rushed and unimaginative.

The ending wasn't even that good.
