Rise By: Anna Carey

14811943.

Goodreads

3.5/5 stars. I love all the adventure in this book, there was rarely a dull moment and things were constantly happening, hence why I finished the book in a few days.

Eve reminds me of Katniss from the Hunger Games, very similar character.

I would have given it 4 stars but the writing quality was not the best.

*SPOILER ALERT*

Near the end really put me off when Eve found Caleb and Anna never really even described the feelings going through Eve, it was suppose to be a twist but the way Anna wrote it was that Eve found Caleb and lived happily ever after lol.. And they should of made a character we know from reading the book the president, wasn't that the whole purpose of the rebellion? To get a new leader to power and change things? Then Anna writes that it's this random guy that's in power. It should of been Arden or Charles that took power. And what ever happened to the boys from the dugout?

Good series all in all though.

Sisterhood Everlasting By: Ann Brashares

Goodreads

A good close to the series. I was engaged into the book because I could relate to the characters.

There's a lot of touching moments that made me just stop and think about things in life.

*SPOILER*

The reason I didn't rate it 4 stars is because it really dragged on in the middle of the book with the death of Tibby. It was really repetitive and it was also random, I'm not sure why that character had to die, would have been nice to see what she did with her life. And I knew that she didn't kill herself from the beginning.

Goodreads

Wasn't really into this book.

There were lots of actions scenes in it and I'd rather see that in a movie rather than a book, but maybe it was just because I didn't like how the action scenes were described.

I thought there would be more things to find out about the maze runner series and I was disappointed in that.

The Millionaire Next Door By: Thomas J. Stanley & William D. Danko

★★★★☆

Goodreads

Very informative book.

It's all about the study of the millionaire's mind.

They have a lot of interesting statistics in the book too.

The only thing I didn't like was that it drags on a lot and is very repetitive.

Best way to not have to be disciplined and budgeted is to make everything automatic.

If it's automatic you don't have to think about it and it's just running in the background.

Even saving 5% of your pay will make a huge difference in the end.

Cold Hard Truth By: Kevin O'Leary

Goodreads

Kevin is actually a pretty cool guy, he seems so harsh and cold on tv but reading his words changed my opinion of him.

He's so driven and ambitious it's infectious.

It was interesting to see where he's come from and his background. He has a lot of set values that I admire and he inspires me.

Oh man this book seriously dragged on like crazy, if I didn't have to listen to the audio book and I had to actually read it I would of stopped reading it a quarter way in… SOOOOO repetitive it can can really boring.. I liked in the end though where they show in the future, and a scene from Christian's perspective.

This book was a little difficult to read since it didn't have an overall purpose, it was just study after study, which was interesting but you couldn't read it for hours.

A children's book but I wouldn't want my child to read it, it's actually quite violent and aggressive.

All in all a good book though. I like how there's so many weird things about it and the sci-fi aspects are pretty neat.

There was something missing in this book though and I can't seem to pinpoint what it is.

Good moral's, excellent read for a young person. For me personally I didn't learn much but there was much to learn if your not familiar with money management. The author loves to repeat himself a million times about what he preaches which is a good/bad thing. I found the way he thinks is extremely similar to my thinking.

Read again Feb 4, 2016
Great book explaining the mind set of how the rich think. It teaches how to separate yourself from the masses and to take risks and take a path less taken, like owning your own business. There's many perks to operating a business including tax savings compared to the heavy tax from a job (just over broke). Life is not about - Go to school, find a good company to work for, instead, go to school, find a good company to buy. Accumulating assets, and/or assets that produce cash flow, instead of liabilities. "Broke is temporary, poor is eternal."

This book was good but pretty slow and tough to get into, like the first book.

It kinda reminds me of the House of Night series (not the vampires, but the highschool/Hogwarts type feel with the abnormal powers/abilities people posses.

Goodreads

Reminded me a lot of Lauren Conrad's book L.A Candy which was strictly meh.

This book is not really about anything, it's just 2 girls trying to make a brand for themselves while they talk about boys, people, and animals... I expected a little twist or something to make things happen, but it was just 2 girls talking the whole time.

I'm not interested in reading the next book. I only bought this book because the authors are on youtube.

I've never read a book like this before, it's very unique. It's also very barbaric and primitive.

The beginning is like living in the perspective of a new born baby and everything is new and confusing and exciting.

The book jumps from different perspectives from time to time and you have to follow who's perspective you're in.

This book was a disappointment in comparison to the first one.

Looking at it alone I give it 3 stars, it was strictly good, not bad, not great, good I suppose.

I'm worried the third book won't be much better.

How is Christian so successful yet 95% of his time is fooling around with a girl? It's not realistic lol... and I wish they would show more of his business in the book.

Loved this book.

It was super long though, and the overall plot is strictly okay, but it's what happens in between the overall plot that's interesting to me.

It's the settings, the people, the descriptions that I really enjoyed.

I also liked the little twist in the ending. It took me a couple months to read it, not because I didn't enjoy it, it's because it's a really big book. I'm excited to read the next one!

So many "god damn" and "christ sakes" and "...I really did." and "that killed me."

Holden is always so depressed and lonely and he's a hard nut to crack until late in the book when he talks to his sister you understand him more.

A fairytale story <3.

The writing style is very old! I mean it was written in 1968 so just keep that in mind. It's okay that it's old but it just makes it different to read, kinda confusing and hard to follow at parts.

It was a fast read though, I enjoyed it.

*SPOILER ALERT*

This was the ending?... Gotta say I expected much more! Especially since 2 books worked up all the way to this ending.

I was hoping a huge twist would happen or that Thomas would regain all his memories and we'd get to see the whole picture. Or it turns out everything was a test for WICKED and everything was fake, friends, memories, places..

So was Theresa and Brenda on their side in the end? Still questions to be answered here.

None of the series could have happened and the immunes could have just gotten in a boat an gone to that island they ended up in - make the journey long enough so only the immunes would survive it I dunno... In a way I feel like I wasted my time almost.

But I did enjoy the journey of the series... even though I was very disappointed at the ending.

The Lightning Thief By: Rick Riordan

★★★★☆

Goodreads

This was surprisingly a pretty good book! I mean if I read this book when I was say 16 I would have loved it. It had mystery, adventure, character development, similar to the most loved Harry Potter series.

I'm glad I didn't see the movie since it would have deterred me away from reading the series. I learned a lot about greek mythology which was cool!

It was very creatively and imaginatively written. I'll be reading the rest of the series! ;)
