Review: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

2nd time re-reading review:
I LOVE THIS BOOK! It's a very strong 5/5 <3

All the character development, all the little seeds Rowling plants along the way, all the details of this book are just so good! And all the twists and turns and things to learn! Gah I can't even... I also like how Voldemort didn't make an appearance in this book, because the series might turn out to be a scooby doo episode where they have to fight the scary monster at every episode lol this book really beefed up the series! I'm already ready Goblet of Fire XD

Questions still unanswered:
- What is/are the secret(s) James and Lily asked Sirius to keep?
- Why was Voldemort after Lily and James in the first place?

Interesting things I learned in this book:

- OMG The movies totally don't get into how they think Sirius Black was a secret keeper for James Potter! Interesting...
- Gryffindor quidditch match against Ravenclaw and Malfoy and company pretended to be dementors lol so Harry sent his patronus on them.
- Ron was upset st Hermione for not stopping Crookshanks eating Scabbers. They think Sirius black broke into Gryffindor tower and was hovering over Ron with a knife.
- Snape catches Harry with Marauders map and there’s writing that’s a message to Snape from Moony Padfoot Prongs Wormtail making fun of Snape. Snape calls Lupin and Lupin saves Harry and says that’s it’s just a parchment that makes fun of who ever reads it
- Lupin used the tunnel under the whomping willow to reach the Shrieking Shack in order to hide out his time until the full moon passed. It was very painful for poor Lupin so he would scream or... "shriek" - this is where they got the name Shrieking Shack
- The whole gang (besides Lupin) learned how to become Animagi in order to be with Lupin while he turned into a werewolf, because only humans are in danger around werewolves. They were such good friends :) <3
-Lupin was in shrieking shack and Sirius thought it would be funny to tell how Snape could enter the tunnel so Snape was headed there and James Potter saved him. James risked his life to save Snape
- So Sirius saw Peter in the newspaper Fudge gave him in azkaban as a rat, and noticed Peter as the rat.
- Peter was Percy's pet rat in order to stay around wizards to keep up with the news of the wizarding world to make sure he was safe
- Worm tail cut off his toe right before he transformed into the rat, he yelled down the street about Sirius betraying Lily and James then before Sirius could curse him Wormtail blew up the street with his wand at his back and killed everyone within 20ft of himself and went into the sewer with the other rats
- Crookshanks could tell the rat was not actually a rat and Sirius gained his trust and rookshanks helped him try and bring peter to Sirius
- Crookshanks was helping Sirius and was the one who got the passwords from Neville’s bedside table. Peter caught wind of this and scared tried to fake his death again with the blood on the sheets and ran for it
- Sirius persuaded Lily and James to use Peter as their secret keeper instead of Sirius. Peter was missing so Sirius went to lily and James and saw the ruined home and he assumed it was Peter
- Sirius changes the secret keeper to Peter because he thought no one would think they would give it to Peter it’s more unlikely and that if anything that Voldemort would go after Sirius instead as he was their best friend
- Sirius escaped Azkaban because he was innocent and plus he would turn into a dog and dementors only really go after humans, he got so thin and frail he was able to turn into a dog and go through the bars and out of Azkaban without being noticed. When Lupin and Sirius were going to kill Peter Harry stopped them and told them Peter has to go to Azkaban but from the story we just learned Peter could just turn into a rat and try to escape Azkaban too
- Harry was with Sirius trying to do his patronum he was thinking Sirius was innocent and that he’ll get to live with him instead of the Dursley’s but the patronus was still weak and the dementors went after Harry first but then there was a patronus and someone that looked familiar - it was himself
- Dumbledore explains to Harry that since Harry saved Peters life there’s a bond there now and if peter goes to Voldemort as professor Trelawney's prediction says then Voldemort will see him as a weakness
