The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Well this book was enlightening! haha I really enjoyed it and it has now influenced my life forever <3 Everyone needs to read this book so we can all be as one :)
Learning the teachings of this book I took notes because I was living in the future and wanted to remember certain points. Mid way through the book I was so present, so in the "now" that I didn't even think to take notes XD.
This book is almost a mind fuck... I feel like it's on another level so much so that I don't 100% understand it - but I really want to. I think it will take a re-read or two to more understand it. It is repetitive in the teachings but it is because he understands that most people don't understand it so he has to give many examples from different angles and perspectives to try and fully grasp the concept.
The book is formatted in a question/answer format. As you develop questions yourself through reading it is usually in the next question that he answers it for you.
Notes I managed to take:
- "To complain is always non-acceptance of what is. It invariably carries an unconscious negative charge. When you complain, you make yourself into a victim."
- "It is not so much that you use your mind wrongly - you usually don't use it at all. It uses you. This is the disease. You believe that you are your mind. This is the delusion."
